New Delhi: The Congress has questioned the Central government last Saturday as to why it wants farmers opposing new agricultural laws to approach the Supreme Court. On Saturday, the Congress party said, "If Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not able to reject agricultural laws, he should be removed from office." In fact, on Saturday, Congress president Sonia Gandhi held a virtual meeting with party leaders and officials on the political situation in the country and the issue of farmers.

In the meantime, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala held his opinion. "The people have chosen the government, not the Supreme Court," he says. The Modi government is accountable to the people, not the Supreme Court. Parliament has the right to enact and reject the law and not the court. If the Modi government is unable to fulfill its responsibilities, he should resign, he has no moral right to remain in power even for a minute. Not only that, Surjewala, in his opinion, said, "The Congress will celebrate Farmers' Rights Day across the country on 15th January. There will be mass agitation in all state capitals and raj Bhavans will be cordoned off." With this, he continued his words and said, "This decision was taken at the meeting of the party's general secretaries and state charging.''

Many Congress leaders were involved in this virtual meeting with Sonia Gandhi. The list includes the names of Congress General Secretary (organization) KC Venugopal, former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat, Rajeev Satwal, Manikchand Tagore, Tariq Anwar, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jitin Prasada, Pawan Bansal, Rajeev Shukla, Bhakta Charan Das, Ajay Maken PL Punia and many others.
