Bhopal: On the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav, Bhopal Police has rejected the demand of taking out procession from Khedapati Hanuman Temple in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh to Old City of Bhopal. Due to security, the police said that this procession can leave from other areas of the city but it is not allowed to take out from the Old City of Bhopal. This decision of the administration came after objections were raised by some clerics who said that taking out religious processions in Muslim areas could be intimidating.

Let us tell you that in view of the violence that took place in Khargone on the occasion of Ram Navami, the administration had given permission to take out a procession on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav with 16 conditions. The procession was reportedly going to pass through some sensitive areas of Bhopal, which include areas like Itwara, Budhwara. This procession will start leaving from 4:30 pm on April 16. The same administration put forth the conditions before taking out this procession, first of all it was said that no objectionable slogans would be raised during the procession.

After that, no one will be allowed to put up objectionable banner posters, the list of songs that will be played on the DJ will have to be given to the administration, there will be a ban on any weapon except trishul-mace in the procession, use of bidi-cirrate or intoxicants in the ceremony. No, if there is any discrepancy in the ceremony, it will be the responsibility of the organizer. It is worth mentioning that while on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav, the police gave permission for this procession with all conditions from the security point of view, while the clerics once again expressed their objection to the procession being taken out from Muslim-dominated areas. He said that doing so could be dangerous. In this regard, a delegation led by Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi met Bhopal DGP Sudhir Saxena and Home Minister Narottam Mishra and expressed concern in this regard. They say that Bajrang Dal and other Hindu organizations are going to take out processions in Muslim-dominated areas, which can be frightening.
