Dehradun: If corona cases in Uttarakhand increase, the number of people attending weddings and other public events or funerals will be limited. Construction zones will be created and restrictions will also be applicable under corona rules in congested areas. Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu has directed all collectors to protect against omicron variants. In the wake of the review meeting at the State Secretariat, he has issued instructions to take special steps for rescue and security. He asked the Collectors to comply with preventive measures and restrictions in pursuance of the directions issued by the Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
He also asked them to keep a constant watch on corona cases in all cities. The condition zones and restrictions should be imposed to prevent the spread of omicrons in line with population and its density. He directed all collectors to take action to comply with the sentiment strategy, testing, trekking, isolation, surveillance, adequate clinical management, immunization and corona friendly behaviour.
He has also directed to take steps like night curfew, ban on overcrowding, reduction in number of marriages and funerals, limiting numbers in offices, industries and public transport in case of increase in corona cases. The Chief Secretary has also emphasized on conducting covid testing in accordance with the guidelines of ICMR and Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and sending samples for door to door case search and genome sequenceating at the earliest.
