Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has expressed grief over the lack of a uniform policy on the designated space for parking vehicles in Maharashtra. Expressing grief, the Bombay High Court said, "Authorities should not allow citizens who do not have proper parking arrangements to keep more than one private car. Recently, a bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice GS Kulkarni said, "Officers should not allow a family that has only one flat and does not have enough space for parking of a car in a residential society. '

In fact, the bench was hearing a PIL filed by Sandeep Thakur, a resident, and activist of Navi Mumbai. The petition challenged the government notification amending the Integrated Development Control and Promotion Regulatory Act to allow developers to reduce space for car parking. Sandeep Thakur said in the petition that developers are not giving enough parking space in new skyscrapers forcing residents to park vehicles outside residential society premises.

On the other hand, the High Court said, "There is a need to reduce the purchase of new cars. It is wrong to allow a family to have four or five vehicles simply because they are able to buy them. You have to see if they have parking space. The court also said, "All roads are flooded with vehicles and 30 percent of the roads on each side are surrounded by parking on both sides. It has become common. At the same time, the court has directed state advocate Manish Pabale to respond within two weeks.
