Raipur: Assembly elections are due in Chhattisgarh later this year. All parties have intensified preparations for this. AAP is also likely to enter the electoral fray. AAP has also started preparing for the elections. Chhattisgarh Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak on Tuesday said paddy procurement from farmers will be done at a higher rate than the current Congress government if his party comes to power in the state. Assembly elections are due in the state later this year.

Pathak attacked the Congress and the BJP at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed office-bearers of AAP's Chhattisgarh unit in the state, saying that despite getting the opportunity to rule the state, the two major parties did nothing but cheat the people. Pathak said Delhi Chief Minister and party's national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will address a big party rally in Bilaspur district of the state on July 2. More than 4,300 newly-appointed office bearers of the party were administered the oath of office at a hotel on the outskirts of the state capital Raipur.

Pathak, who hails from Chhattisgarh, said if AAP comes to power in the state, paddy will be procured at a higher rate than the present government. After the formation of Chhattisgarh, BJP and Congress got opportunities again and again, but both parties betrayed the people of the state. When Kejriwal can make schools good by getting an opportunity, why can't BJP and Congress? In the 2018 assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, AAP tried its luck for the first time. In that election, the party had fielded candidates in 85 out of 90 seats, but it did not get success. Significantly, the Aam Aadmi Party is also engaged in preparations for the Haryana Assembly elections.
