Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday appeared in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court in connection with the IRCTC scam. Tejashwi Yadav filed his reply to the CBI's plea for rejection of his bail plea in the corruption case. However, the CBI opposed it. The same Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court told Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav that we are not going to cancel your bail. The court warned that in the future, if you speak something to the public, then choose the right words. We are not cancelling the bail, there is no basis for this. The judge cautioned that you will not make any such statement in future.

The CBI had asked the court to reject the bail of Tejashwi Yadav. CBI says Tejashwi Yadav is a criminal in IRCTC scam. CBI said that Tejashwi Yadav had threatened the CBI officers during a press conference so that the case could be affected. The CBI said that the witnesses involved in the investigation in this case are also being threatened. CBI said the investigating officer associated with this case was attacked not once, but twice. But we don't have any proof. Nor are we including it in this case. But this is also a one-time threat. Tejashwi Yadav is out on bail in the IRCTC scam case. Recently, the CBI filed an application in the court to reject Tejashwi's bail. Thereafter, the Special Court of CBI issued a notice to Tejashwi Yadav asking him to appear.

What is the IRCTC scam case?

Let us tell you that between 2004 and 2009, Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister. At that time, the work of maintenance of two hotels run in Ranchi and Puri through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was suddenly given to a company named Sujata Hotels. Vinay and Vijay Kochhar were the owners of this company and Sujata Hotels in return gave Lalu Yadav 3 acres of land in Patna, which was an unnamed property. There were alleged irregularities in awarding contracts of two IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Odisha's Puri in 2006 to a private firm involved in bribery as a commercial plot of three acres at a prime location in Patna. The ED had also filed a charge sheet in the case and accused him of money laundering. In this case, the CBI had also questioned Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav several times. Thereafter, the CBI had registered a criminal case against all in 2017. In 2018 bail was granted in this case.
