Lucknow: Gangster Atiq Ahmed has been the uncrowned king not only of the world of crime but also of the politics of Uttar Pradesh. His status in earlier governments was such that the officer who came in his way was handed over the transfer order from Lucknow. One such officer is RK Chaturvedi. He was IG Zone Prayagraj in the year 2016 during Samajwadi Party (SP) regime. At that time, Atiq Ahmed was continuously playing tricks to implicate Umesh Pal, the main witness of the BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case, but IG RK Chaturvedi was thwarting his every attempt.

Atiq Ahmed reached IG's office to threaten him:-

After which, to threaten the then IG Zone RK Chaturvedi, Mafia Atiq Ahmed had also reached his office. But, when RK Chaturvedi did not agree to the threat, Atiq Ahmed got him transferred on the strength of both political and religious forces. Talking to the media, former IG RK Chaturvedi has told that, 'It is about the year 2016, I was IG Zone in Prayagraj, at that time I had a confrontation with Atiq Ahmed. Atiq threatened to come to my office to meet me, then I had an argument with him and I was transferred the very next day.'

Atiq wanted to implicate Umesh Pal in the murder case:-

RK Chaturvedi says that, 'At that time a young man riding a motorcycle was killed in the Civil Line area. Atiq spread the rumor through his people that this murder was done by Umesh Pal, but coincidentally there was a CCTV installed at the bungalow of an officer and it became clear that the person sitting behind the car had committed the murder. Not Umesh Pal or his people. Chaturvedi said, Another similar murder took place in Dhumanganj area, where a complaint was being filed against the unknown, but suddenly Atiq Ahmed's people reached the police station and Umesh Pal was named in it.

Atiq got the transfer of IG done in 24 hours:-

Chaturvedi says that, since I am a resident of Prayagraj, where I studied and did my first job in the jail department, so I had a strong informer system like the constable-inspector, I came to know about the nomination in the murder case. Things are going wrong, after which I gave clear instructions to the police team that arrests would be made only on the basis of evidence. Former IG RK Chaturvedi said, 'Atiq Ahmed wanted Umesh Pal to be arrested and sent to jail in the murder case. As soon as Atiq Ahmed got this information, he reached my office to threaten me. When Atiq Ahmed reached the office and started gloating, I had to remind him that I am the same officer in front of whom you used to beg with folded hands in jail. At that time Atiq left from there, but the very next day the IG got the transfer orders.

Actually, before joining the police service, RK Chaturvedi was posted in the jail department. He was serving as Additional Jail Superintendent in Naini Jail in 1986. At that time Atiq Ahmed was imprisoned under the National Security Act (NSA). Till that time, Atiq was a small-time goon, so he used to beg with folded hands in front of RK Chaturvedi to allow him to meet people, sometimes to send him to the hospital.

Atiq Ahmed's name also in communal riots: -

RK Chaturvedi told that, There were fierce communal riots in Prayagraj in 1986, in which the names of Atiq Ahmed and Safdar Raza came to the fore, when the search for Atiq Ahmed started in the riots, he got a warrant made in the old case and went to jail. The district police did not even know about it. Then I told the district police that Atiq Ahmed, whom you are looking for, is imprisoned in the old warrant, after which the district administration took action against Atiq Ahmed under NSA. Former IG RK Chaturvedi explains that, When Atiq Ahmed was released from jail, he became a leader, his supremacy started spreading rapidly and his atrocities also increased.'

What did former IG RK Chaturvedi say on the murder of Atiq-Ashraf:-

On the murder of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf in police custody, Chaturvedi says, This is a mistake, the killing of someone in police custody raises serious questions on the police, but it is clear that the people who killed Atiq and Ashraf are It is true that the mastermind behind them is someone else, now that mastermind will be revealed only in the police investigation.
