Culcutta: In the 2021 edition of the Business Today-MDRA Best B-school survey, the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C) took first place. A total of 305 institutes took part in the survey, which lasted over three months.

According to a statement, IIM-Ahmedabad (IIMA), which was ranked first last year, topped three of the five primary parameters this year: learning experience, living experience and selection process, governance and establishment, while IIM-C topped the other two: placement performance and future orientation.

"IIM-strong C's performance in future orientation was crucial in helping it dethrone the perennial favourite for the first time." IIM-C edged out IIM-A by 0.1 points in a close race," it said. IIM-Bangalore, IIM-Lucknow, and Mumbai's SPJIMR (SP Jain Institute of Management and Research) took third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.

Aside from the overall ranking of institutes, the survey includes school rankings based on each primary parameter, cities, zones, and return on investment. There are also separate rankings for private and government institutions. "The distinct imprint of the (COVID-19)pandemic on business school education is the other big trend in business education this year," according to the statement.
