The Indian Institute of Management in Visakhapatnam (Vizag ) has received 100 percent placements, with the top compensation provided increasing by 13 percent over the previous season to Rs 23.5 lakh per annum. The average package of Rs 14.6 lakh is the highest in the new generation of IIMs, which were established in 2015.

"Despite the uncertainty created by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic," IIMV officials said, "the institute maintained 100 percent placement results, completing the placement season for the sixth graduating MBA batch in record time, with record offers."

The placement season, which runs on a rolling basis, ended last week with over 75 organisations participating in the process and making several offers, as well as over 40 new recruiters offering opportunities in various domains.

BFSI (31 percent) is the most popular sector for recruiting this year, followed by IT/ITES (26 percent), consulting (25 percent), e-commerce (7 percent), manufacturing (5 percent), FMCG (3 percent), and other sectors such as healthcare, construction, digital media, and education (3 percent).
