Ilker Ayci, former chairman of the board of directors of Turkish Airlines, will no longer be the new managing director and chief executive officer of domestic airline Air India. He has rejected the offer received from Tata Sons in this regard. Tata Sons has also confirmed this.

Recently, the board of Tata Sons, after taking over the control of Air India, decided to give its responsibility to Aichi. This decision of Tata Sons could not get permission from the Government of India. The government objected to his appointment as Aichi's Pakistan connection surfaced. Since the government's objection, there was an estimation that no one else but Aichi would become the Managing Director of Air India.

According to a news received, quoting Aichi's statement, it was said, 'Indian media ran various types of news on my appointment. In view of these, I have come to the conclusion that it is not right or respectable to accept the position when this type of narrative is going on. After this news, Tata Sons also confirmed this news. Tata Sons said that Aichi has turned down offers for the post of managing director and chief executive officer of Air India.
