New Delhi: The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has busted a major illegal arms racket ahead of January 26 and arrested two accused. One of the accused, Ravi Khan, is said to be a resident of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh and the other is Rahul Singh, a resident of Madhya Pradesh. Police have recovered a 25-cm automatic pistol, mobile phone and several SIM cards from their possession.
Giving details of the case, the police said that the financial links of the accused Rahul Singh from abroad have been detected and it has also been revealed that he used to take a hefty amount through hawala. In fact, in October 2021, the Special Cell had busted an illegal arms module in which Ram Shebad and Akash Dwar were arrested. A large number of weapons were recovered from them. The police were constantly interrogating them.
Based on this, the rest of their members were being monitored. It was then that information was received about an arms supplier named Rahul Singh that he was supplying illegal arms from Madhya Pradesh to UP and Delhi. After which the police laid a trap and arrested the two accused.
