The Meghalaya will meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the implementation of the inner line permit (ILP) in the state. Prestone Tynsong, Meghalaya's deputy chief minister, confirmed this.

The Meghalaya government would discuss the problem of ILP implementation during its next meeting with Amit Shah, according to Tynsong. Prestone Tynsong stated, "We would highlight all remaining concerns (including ILP) at the meeting with union home minister Amit Shah."

However, the deputy chief minister of Meghalaya stated that the meeting with Amit Shah has yet to be scheduled. He said that union home minister Amit Shah will set a date for a meeting to settle "all pending issues" related to Meghalaya.

Let us tell you that earlier Large-scale incidents of arson and violence erupted over ILP and CAA in late 2019 and continued until early 2020. The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, however, put a stop to the agitation until it was temporarily reignited later in the year when the epidemic subsided. The state is now coping with the sickness, and any extended agitation might exacerbate the situation.
