Dheeraj Dhoopar is getting ready to celebrate the festival of lights with his young son Zayn, so this Diwali will be extra special for him. Vinny and Dheeraj welcomed their first child in August. Dheeraj claims that this Diwali will be particularly memorable for the entire family as well as for him and his wife. Even though Zayn is only two and a half months old, he has already brought us so much joy. We'll host a sizable gathering at our Mumbai home with Vinny's and my parents. We'll throw a lavish party with lots of entertainment, a lavish dinner, and friend-catching. My busy schedule prevents me from having the time to buy gifts for my son, which I would have loved to do! Thankfully, I have friends and family who lavishly care for my son. Every so often, gifts have been given to him.

Dheeraj claims becoming a father has increased his sensitivity. He must film with a young child because he is currently the lead in Sherdil Shergil. He continues, "It's like on-the-job training for me," when discussing his experience shooting while holding a baby. Even at work, I'm learning how to care for a baby! The toddler I am shooting with is a year old, whereas Zayn is two and a half months old. I have grown more sensitive and concerned about children since actually becoming a father. I no longer view the world through the eyes of an actor, but rather through the eyes of a father. I believe having a child around the sets is very positive.

A recent injury forced Dheeraj to leave the dance reality series Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 10. I'm used to working on two shows at once. Unfortunately, I had an accident during a rehearsal and was told to take a complete break even though I could handle both Jhalak and Sherdil. Additionally, I was asked to refrain from dancing, so I had no choice but to decline. Dheeraj considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to take on engaging TV roles. "I always have to play challenging roles, which are uncommon on Indian TV," he claims. I'm ready to take on a bad character now. The character I played in Naagin 5 had some grey areas, but right now I'm itching to play a completely evil character and shock my audience. Since they have always showered me with love, I'm sure they would want me to play a villain on screen as well.
