The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) commissioner Pratibha Pal has given a deadline of October 24 for completion of work and testing of the 11 MLD STP (minimal liquid discharge sewage treatment plant) at Nahar Bhandara in Indore.
The sewage treatment plant is under construction with a project cost Rs 11 crore. The commissioner also ordered the municipal officials to contact the MPEB department for getting power connection for the plant. Commissioner Pal also visited BRTS corridor from Rajiv Gandhi Square to Navlakha Square to check the cleanliness worker. When she found garbage at the BRTS corridor, she warned the Swachhata workers to pull up their socks else strict action will be taken against them. She also checked the presence of cleanliness staff. She also warned the area cleanliness inspector. She also talked to the cleanliness workers to know their problems.
Meanwhile, Commissioner reviewed a meeting last day regarding the outfall taping work which is undergoing in full swing by the IMC. She mainly focused on the work going on in Zone 2, 12, 13 and 15 from where the Saraswati River starts and meets Kanh River. She set a deadline of October 25 for Corporation officials to complete the taping work and instructed them to conduct a survey of all the areas under the four zones and submit a report concerning the taping work. She also warned the officials that after the deadline date no outfall should be found in the river under the areas of four zones and instructed officials to initiate the beautification work of the banks of the river under the four zones.
