IMD forecast: Parts of Uttar Pradesh receive light to moderate rains

Light to light rain and thundershowers occurred at isolated places over eastern Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, with heavy downpour at isolated places in the eastern part of the state.  Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning were witnessed in some parts, the meteorological department office said in a bulletin.

It said rainfall and thundershowers are very likely at a few places in the state on Sunday with heavy downpour at isolated places in the western part. The weather office also warned of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning at isolated places.

The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Allahabad (37.4 degrees Celsius) and the lowest in Etawah (21.6 degrees celsius), the Metrological department said.

On the other hand, Rajasthan would receive heavy rains in the next four days, as per the weather department. It has also issued an alert for Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur districts. Meanwhile, states Goa, Gujarat, like Karnataka,  Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Uttarakhand are expected to moderate rains in the next few days. Conversely, isolated heavy rains are possible in Odisha, West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand, Sikkim and other areas of northeast India will witness rain in the next 24 hours.
