Chennai: The Regional Centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy heavy rain in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu till Diwali. Last Saturday, Srivaikuntam in Thoothukudi district received 18 cm of rain which was the highest in the state.

In fact, two major dams in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, Red Hills Chamberbakkam, are 82 per cent 76 per cent weighted due to heavy rains.
