Weather: UP may have a flood-like situation, IMD warned

Lucknow: The MET department (IMD) has predicted good rainfall. According to it, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand will receive enough rainfall. The rain will relieve the sultry heat. However, rain has created a flood situation in many parts of Uttar Pradesh. Many rivers of Purvanchal are flowing above the danger mark.

According to the MET department, heavy rain may occur in several districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh in the coming 24 hours. There is also a possibility of rain in western UP. Such a season may continue till August 25. The MET department in its forecast has predicted that Rajasthan will see a decline in rainfall from August 24, while the weather may remain dry in most parts of the state during August 25-28. Meanwhile, good rain is expected in the first week of September.

In addition, the MET department has issued an alert for heavy rains till August 26 in Gorakhpur, a major city in eastern Uttar Pradesh. According to the MET department, Gorakhpur may receive heavy rain with thundershowers from August 23 to August 26. In view of this, the MET department has advised the people not to leave their homes during the rains.
