New Delhi: Cold wave conditions have also intensified in the plains following a snowfall in the mountains. The temperature has touched below zero in some parts of Rajasthan. Meanwhile, pictures of snow freezing have surfaced from Mount Abu. According to the Met department, the plains may experience a blood-stained cold for the next 5 days. The department has issued an alert in this regard.

According to the Met department, the temperature may further fall in parts of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Gangiya West Bengal, Saurashtra, Kutch, Vidarbha, and Telangana in the next 5 days. The cold wave further intensified in Punjab and Haryana. According to the Met department, most places in both the states recorded below normal temperatures at night.

In Kashmir, water accumulated due to severe cold at most places, and the temperature remained below zero at many places in the valley as well as the havoc of cold waves. Officials said several reservoirs including waterfalls, lakes, and rivers in the valley have accumulated water due to extreme cold waves during the past week. The famous Dal Lake has also accumulated, while city dwellers are facing difficulties due to drinking water, pipe dispersion.
