New Delhi: The ongoing turmoil between the national capital Delhi and the monsoon has finally come to an end. MET scientists were also killed, as their predictions were constantly proving wrong. Delhi was cloudy yesterday morning and it rained heavily. The weather was pleasant when raindrops fell on the hot earth of the capital. Clouds lashed the capital, causing waterlogging in many places and long road jams in many places.

The MET department says Delhi will now receive similar light rainfall till July 16, after which Delhi remained prepared for heavy rains. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon has reached the capital 16 days behind normal arrival. According to the department, this is the latest entry of monsoon in Delhi in the last 19 years. Earlier in 2002, the monsoon reached Delhi on July 19.

The monsoon usually reaches the capital on June 27 and by July 8 the monsoon covers the entire country. Last year, the monsoon reached Delhi on June 25 and engulfed the country by June 29. IMD had earlier said that the monsoon will reach Delhi on June 15, 12 days before the scheduled date, but its arrival has been affected by the wind conditions. In early June, the MET department had said that by July 7, conditions would be favorable for the monsoon to advance in Delhi and other parts of northwest India.
