Dehradun: The country has already entered the monsoon on Sunday. In Kerala, the monsoon has hit three days ahead of normal. Its impact will also be seen in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. According to meteorologists, if the winds continue at the current speed, the monsoon will start in the Kumaon region from June 12.

Earlier, the monsoon was expected to arrive from June 21 to 22. However, if the wind speed slows down even a little, the monsoon may be delayed. In such a situation, the seasonal rains will start from June 15 to 18. Dr. R.K. Singh, Senior Meteorologist, GB Pant agriculture university Pantnagar, has informed that the monsoon usually hits Kerala by June 1. But this time, on May 29, the monsoon reached Kerala. The arrival of the monsoon three days ahead of the normal time is also showing good signs. As the wind speed is, the monsoon may knock in the Kumaon region till June 12.

Dr Singh said that the pre-monsoon is also likely to start in the Kumaon region on June 3. There will be light rain in various areas in the interval of 2 to 3 days from the probable date of pre-monsoon and there will be relief from the heat. With the arrival of the monsoon in Uttarakhand, people will also get relief from the scorching heat. However, the fall in temperature in the hilly districts has definitely brought relief to the people from the heat.
