New Delhi: The monsoon was likely to hit the national capital Delhi today, but now, according to information released by IMD Dwari, it is unlikely to reach for the next two days. The Met department had earlier predicted that monsoon winds would enter Delhi by June 15. On the other hand, the monsoon in Delhi reaches by June 27 and begins to take effect across the country by July 8.
Meanwhile, a IMD official said, "The monsoon has slowed down in northwest India due to westerly winds. It is unlikely to reach Delhi within the next two days." However, the capital may receive light to moderate rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the Met department, there may be light rain and a dust storm. The maximum temperature is said to fall to 3 degrees due to rain and thunderstorms.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 38.6 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while the minimum temperature was reported to be 3 degrees below normal at 25.5 degrees Celsius. According to the Met department, delhi, uttar pradesh, haryana and punjab are in the next 48 with southwest monsoon advancing. Due to which it is expected to rain in Delhi.
