NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall in several states until September 9. Here's a breakdown of the predictions:

North Peninsular, Central, and Adjoining East India: The IMD anticipates active monsoon conditions in these regions over the next four days. Maharashtra is expected to experience isolated heavy rainfall until September 8. Additionally, Madhya Pradesh may witness an increase in rainfall activity with isolated heavy falls from September 5 to 8, and Gujarat is likely to see heavy rains on September 7 and 8.

Kerala: Moderate rain is expected to persist in Kerala for the next five days, and there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated areas from September 4 to 8.

East India: Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are anticipated to have light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in these regions between September 5 and 9.

South India: Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, and Kerala & Mahe are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall. These conditions are expected to persist until September 9, with varying dates for each region.

Central India: East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and West Madhya Pradesh are forecasted to have light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning. Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely in Vidarbha on September 6. These conditions are expected to persist until September 9, with varying dates for each region.

West India: Marathwada, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and the Gujarat Region are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. These conditions are expected to persist until September 9, with varying dates for each region.

Northeast India: Assam & Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, may see scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall between September 7 and 9.

Northwest India: West Uttar Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand are expected to have isolated to scattered rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall activity. These conditions will vary in intensity and duration from September 6 to 9.
