Corona: Ban on movement of essential salmon in Pakistan, Imran announced

ISLAMABAD: Amid growing cases of deadly coronavirus infection, Pakistan's PM Imran Khan has lifted a nationwide ban on the movement of salmon, deciding to allow food-related industries to be opened to ensure adequate supply of essential commodities.

Dawn News has told in its report that PM Imran Khan has announced this in a press conference on Friday after presiding over the meeting of the National Coordination Committee. This announcement has been made by PM Imran Khan at a time when several cases of infection from Covid-19 in the country have been confirmed simultaneously. A total of 1,363 cases have been registered in Pakistan so far and the number of people who died due to the epidemic has gone up to 11. Punjab province tops the region with the highest number of 490 infections.

Speaking to the press conference, Imran Khan said that, "Today we have decided to lift the inter-provincial ban in view of the movement of goods to ensure adequate supply of essential goods." He said, however, that the ban on public transport will continue. Imran further said that the situation of Pakistan is not as bad as in Italy, Iran and America so far, but there is no certainty that the cases of coronavirus in Pakistan will not increase rapidly in the coming week.
