The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) under-reported funds received from foreign nationals and companies and disguised hundreds of bank accounts, according to a report published by the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) scrutiny committee.

According to the Dawn, the party under-reported Rs 312 million over a four-year period, from FY2009-10 to FY2012-13. In FY2012-13 alone, an amount of over Rs 145 million was under-reported, according to year-by-year figures. According to the report, "a study of the chartered accountant's opinion on PTI's finances for this time does not reveal any divergence from the reporting principles and standards." It also casts doubt on the certificate signed by PTI chairman Imran Khan, which was submitted alongside the audited accounts of the party.

The report also mentions the dispute over four PTI officials receiving donations in their personal accounts, but states that it was beyond the scope of its investigation to look into their accounts, according to reports. The report was released as the ECP resumed hearings on PTI's foreign funding matter on Tuesday. The case has been pending since November 2014.
