In West Bengal, a cannon is a topic of discussion among the people these days. The cannon is rarely seen by people, and that's why people don't leave whenever they see such a thing. A similar incident was recently found during the excavation of a canal going on in Nadia district. The cannon has been taken over by the local administration and kept safe at the police station. But to see it, the police station's rounds are being cut.

In fact, according to area officer (IC) Ashokatru Mukherjee of Haringhata police station, excavation work has been going on for the past few days to repair the Yamuna canal. He said, the laborers have found a cannon during the excavation of Yamuna at Rajapur under Haringhata area. According to information, the cannon recovered from the canal is made of brass, about four feet two inches in length. He said the recovered cannon looks very old and archeological. That's why people are crowding in Thane to see it.

On the other hand, BDO Krishna Gopal of Haringhata said that the cannon has been kept in a local police station for security purposes. Information regarding this cannon has been given to the Archaeological Department. Soon the archaeological department team will reach the spot and check the cannon found from the canal. He said, after the recovery of the cannon from the canal, there is an untold atmosphere among the local people. A large number of people are reaching the police station to catch a glimpse of the cannon.
