Hyderabad: Three persons were killed in a major road accident in the Gachibowli area of Hyderabad on Tuesday. A speeding car lost uncontrollably and hit the divider in Central University Road. The collision was so severe that the car broke into two pieces. One person was seriously injured in the accident. One bank employee and two women junior artists were said to be among the dead. Their names are Abdul Rahim, M Mansa, and N Mansa. The injured man's name is Sai Sidhu, who is also a junior artist. He has been admitted to a nearby private hospital. According to him, the driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol. Gachibowli police have registered a case and are investigating.

The police have sent the bodies to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem. According to media reports, the two junior artists were staying in a hostel in Amirpet area of the city. All of them were reportedly drunk. The accident took place when they were on their way to Lingampally by car.

On Wednesday, an Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus fell into a river near Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district, killing nine persons. It also included the driver of the bus. The bus driver tried to change his route to avoid a lorry coming from the opposite direction on the bridge over the Jaleru river, but he lost control of the bus.
