In Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi spoke of Kalpana, said - 'Her success is very special'

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi has addressed the 89th episode of the 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on Sunday. Due to this, he has mentioned the suggestions received from the countrymen. Addressing the 'Mann Ki Baat', the Prime Minister said, "The figure of unicorn in the country has crossed 100.''

During this, while talking about a girl student, Prime Minister Modi said, "Friends, there is a rich treasure of many languages, scripts and dialects in our country. Different clothes, food and culture in different areas, this is our identity. This diversity, this diversity, as a nation, empowers us and keeps us united. A very inspiring example related to this is that of a daughter Kalpana, which, I want to share with all of you. Her name is Kalpana, but her endeavour is filled with the true spirit of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.

"Kalpana has recently passed her 10th standard examination in Karnataka, but the very special thing about her success is that Kalpana did not know the Kannada language till some time ago. She not only learnt Kannada in three months but also scored 92 number. You may be surprised to know this, but it's true. There are many other things about them that will surprise you and inspire you. Kalpana is originally from Joshimath in Uttarakhand. She had previously suffered from TB and when she was in the third grade, her eyesight was also gone, but, say no, 'where she wants to go'.
