COVID- Officials claimed on Saturday that the number of cases in poll-bound Manipur has been increasing over the previous five days, with the infectious virus's positive rate climbing from 4.1 percent to 7.1 percent.

The daily positive rate of COVID-19 cases in Manipur has been changing over the last week, according to Additional Director Khoirom Sasbeekumar Mangang of the Manipur Health and Family Welfare Department. "During the holidays the positivity rate is a little less and during the working days the COVID-19 positivity rate is increasing," Mangang, who is the spokesperson of the Health and Family Welfare Department, said.

Somorjit Ningombam, a Manipur COVID-19 Surveillance Officer, revealed that all seven Omicron infected patients discovered lately in Manipur were discharged from hospital after receiving negative findings.On December 26, a 48-year-old man from Manipur tested positive for Omicron after visiting Tanzania lately, making him the first case of the new COVID-19 form in the whole North-East area.
