Actor Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Shri Ram in famous religious serial producer Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana', does not need any recognition. He became popular not only in the country but also abroad by playing the role of Lord Shri Ram in 'Ramayana', which aired on television in the 80s. But, do you know that whenever Arun Govil was not present on the set of 'Ramayana', a Muslim actor used to play the role of Prabhu Shri Ram?

The name of this actor who became Prabhu Shri Ram in the absence of Arun Govil is Aslam Khan. Aslam played 11 roles in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana' from sage to monster. But, few people know that he also played the role of duplicate Ram in 'Ramayana'. Aslam Khan himself revealed this during an interview. He had told that during the shooting of 'Ramayana', when Arun Govil could not come for some reason, he was dressed in the getup of Lord Shri Ram.

"When I used to play the character of Lord Shri Ram, most of the long shots were filmed so that my face was not visible. Actually, we all worked like family on the set. So they used to do this to help each other and finish the shooting of the serial on time. Even after playing 11 roles in 'Ramayan', Aslam Khan stopped getting work from the small screen. After struggling for a long time, he left acting after the year 2002. According to media reports, after leaving acting, Aslam Khan started working in a marketing company in Jhansi.
