Dehradun: In the last 24 hours, there has been news of forest fire at 45 places in the state. 16 in Garhwal, 28 in Kumaon and one incident of forest fire took place in the protected wildlife sanctuary. So far, a total of 446 incidents of forest fire in the state have also been received to hear the reports. According to the report released by the Forest Fire and Disaster Management Office on Tuesday, in the last 24 hours, a total of 16 forest fire incidents including 13 in reserved forest area in Garhwal and three places in civil forest panchayat area have also been reported.
Similarly, in Kumaon, 24 in the reserved forest area and four in the civil forest panchayat area, there has been a sudden fire in the forests at a total of 28 places. While one incident of fire has happened in the protected wildlife sanctuary. In which a total of 75.5 hectares of forest area has been damaged. At the same time, an economic loss of Rs 22 thousand has been assessed.
On the other hand, Pramod Singh, the forest sarpanch in Srinagar, got scorched in the extinguishing of the Kandikhal forest fire near village Kweli Silod.
