Theran: In an effort to topple the government as demonstrations enter their fourth week, an activist group called for new protests across Iran on Wednesday, according to a report by Iran International.

In response to the regime's harsh crackdown and violence against Sanandaj protesters, the group known as "Tehran Youth" called for massive demonstrations to begin Wednesday afternoon in all the major streets and squares.

Since the nationwide protests sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini started weeks ago, at least 108 people have been killed, including minors, according to the Oslo-based organisation Iran Human Rights.

In separate clashes in the city of Zahedan, in the southeast province of Sistan-Baluchistan, the Iranian security forces also claimed at least 93 additional lives, according to a statement from IHR.

Anger over the alleged rape of a teenage girl by a police commander in the area sparked protests that led to violence in Zahedan on September 30.

On Tuesday, human rights organisations expressed concern about the severity of the crackdown in Sanandaj, the capital of Amini's native Kurdistan province.

Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, director of IHR, said in a statement on Wednesday that "the international community must take immediate action to stop further killings in Kurdistan."

IHR stated that the Kurdistan province's Sanandaj city had experienced widespread protests and bloody crackdowns over the previous three days, but that those deaths were not included in the province's current death toll.

According to the Olso-based organisation, 28 deaths have been reported in the province of Mazandaran, 14 in Kurdistan, 12 in Gilan and West Azerbaijan, and 11 in the province of Tehran.

According to the report, numerous kids who were protesting in the last week on the streets and at schools were also detained by the Iranian security forces.

IHR stated that because it was still looking into the incident, its death toll did not include the six people who reportedly died on Sunday during protests inside Rasht central prison in northern Iran.
