Chatra: A shocking incident of superstition has come to light from a village in the Chatra district of Jharkhand. Where a Maulana crossed all limits of cruelty in the name of recuperation and exorcism. In the name of removing the ghost, the young woman was beaten up and burnt her face, lips and hands with incense sticks. The girl could not bear this pain that disturbed her mental balance. The criminal Maulana has been booked under the POCSO Act.

According to the news received, the girl's health had deteriorated. Her family wanted to take her to the hospital, but Maulana Wahid claimed to have cured her and brought her to his house. He started to treat her there. The girl's father said that Wahid kept the minor at his house for four days continuously and behaved in a huff. In the name of removing the ghost, the minor was brutally assaulted and with a burning incense stick, he put it on the daughter's face, lips and several places in both hands.

The victim has lost her mental balance due to this physical and mental torture. When her condition worsened, she was taken to Sadar Hospital Chatra from where she was referred to RIMS in Ranchi. After a few days of treatment, the victim has been sent to Kanke mental asylum. People say that if strict action is not taken against the Maulana, then many Maulanas and hypocrites spread in the society like Wahid will make people their victims. Police officer Ashok Priyadarshi said an FIR has been registered in the case and the matter is being investigated. The police have arrested Maulana and initiated action against him under the POCSO Act.
