Lucknow: The female Mahant of Ramjanaki Math of Thanagaddi Gram Sabha under Thanagaddi outpost of Kerakat Kotwali area of ​​Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh was shot dead by unidentified miscreants on Saturday morning. Sadhvi's condition is said to be critical. He has been referred to Trauma Center BHU for treatment. Police have started investigation by taking two suspects into custody. A 48-year-old woman Sadhvi Indravati Das Maharaj was present in the room on the terrace of Ram Janaki Math situated on the border of Bammawan and Thanagaddi Gram Sabha on Saturday morning by an unknown miscreant. Meanwhile, the miscreants fired two shots. One bullet went off touching the forehead of Sadhvi while the other bullet hit the left side of the chest. After the incident, the injured Sadhvi herself informed by calling 112 dial police and Thanagaddi outpost in-charge. On the spot, Kerakat Kotwal Laxman Parvat and Thanagaddi outpost in-charge Santosh Yadav reached the spot and first the injured was sent to Community Health Center Kerakat for first aid, from where the condition was critical, Trauma Center was sent to Varanasi. At the same time, two shells have also been recovered by the police from the spot.

Kerakat Kotwal says that prima facie it seems that the attacker was already present in the house, because there is only one way to go to the room where the incident happened and to the whole house. Which was locked from inside even after the incident. Police said that when we reached the spot, the house was locked from inside. Police have taken two people into custody in the case. During interrogation, the people around have said that we did not hear the sound of firing.
