The Prime Minister has visited Venice to take stock of the damage caused by the floods and to see the situation in the city. He has also held meetings with the cabinet on this subject, the PM also wrote a sentimental Facebook post on the flood situation in Venice.

' The main cause of the floods was the high tide on 13 November, due to which the entire city was flooded. Water in Italy's canals reached alarming levels and spread to the city. Due to which water famous monuments, houses and businesses have been affected by the floods. This water level reached 1.87 meters above sea level. The city's mayor Luigi Brugnaro has described it as a historic disaster.

The Italian Prime Minister said that we are fully prepared to face the difficulties in the future. He said, "With the removal of water from the city, complete preparations have been made to prevent more water from entering the city." It is being told that in view of the rising water level in Venice, gates have been built to prevent seawater from entering the city. These gates can be closed when the water rises. Along with this, complete arrangements have been made for the drainage of water by repairing the drainage system and weakening canals of Venice for the last several years.
