Kolkata: The new variant Omicron of corona virus has once again started pushing the whole world to lockdown. Now, in India also, its cases are increasing rapidly. After Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh, the new variant of Corona in West Bengal has now been knocked out by Omicron.

A 7-year-old boy has been diagnosed with Omicron infection in Murshidabad, Bengal. The child had recently returned to Hyderabad from Abu Dhabi on December 10 and came to Kolkata from there.  However, the child's parents have been found negative in corona tests. The child has not yet found any corona targets, but the report has come out positive. Doctors are treating the child. Health department officials have started the process of isolate the people who came in contact with the child.  This is the first case of Omicron infection in West Bengal.

Meanwhile, two new cases of Omicron have been confirmed in Hyderabad, Telangana.  Among the newly found Omicron patients in Hyderabad are a 24-year-old Kenyan national and a Somali national.   This has been confirmed by Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health, Government of Telangana.
