JERUSALEM: The Israeli Health Ministry announced that foreign nationals flying to Israel will no longer be obliged to obtain a coronavirus test before boarding.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday permitted travellers to choose between PCR and antigen tests before boarding, rather than solely PCR. However, the latest decision eliminates any testing obligation.
The easing will take effect on Saturday. According to the Ministry, all travellers going to Israel will still be required to fill out a health statement up to 48 hours before boarding.
Another requirement that will be eliminated is the coronavirus test that must be completed prior to boarding a cruise ship departing from Israel, according to the statement.
In early January, Israel permitted the entry of Covid-19 vaccinated traveller's entry as well as recovered passengers, and subsequently in early March, of all passengers, including the unvaccinated.
