Chandigarh: Income Tax Department has unearthed more than 200 crore assets of Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi from Haryana after a six-day raid. The Income Tax Department had started raids on 13 locations in Delhi, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh from July 23. The raids have revealed black money stashed abroad as well as tax evasion of Rs 30 crore.

The Income Tax Department has informed that Kuldeep Bishnoi had been building property in the country and abroad for the past several years without the agency's eyes. The agency has been exposed to the property of Kuldeep Bishnoi in the UK, United Arab Emirates, Panama, BVI, Jersey, which was deposited in the name of different people. One of them even tried to take citizenship to the Caribbean island.

The investigation also revealed that Kuldeep Bishnoi had a diamond business and had business dealings with fugitive criminals Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi. The agency is now trying to find out if Kuldeep Bishnoi has any connection with the Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi scams.
