Monday; July 11,2016: For inculcating the feeling of nationalism, the IIT Bombay has placed an order for 3,500 convocation robes made of khadi cotton for the students.

"After Gujarat University, now khadi has also made a niche in the hearts of authorities of premier Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay," the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises said in a statement.

As the statement further added, "3,500 uttarias or angavastrams made of honey comb towel cotton khadi for use by students at the time of convocation”.

Mumbai Director Devang Khakhar said, “The institute has adopted khadi to instill feeling of nationalism in the students”
