Team India has set a new record in Test cricket by beating Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs at the Eden Gardens ground. The Indian team has become the first team in the world to win four Test matches repeatedly with an innings and run margin. In the historic Pink Ball Test, India defeated Bangladesh by 2–0.

The Indian team had defeated South Africa by an innings and 137 runs in the Pune Test. After this, in the Ranchi Test, the African team was defeated by an innings and 202 runs. The third match was won by Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs in Indore and for the fourth time in Kolkata Test, it made history by defeating the Bangladeshi team by an innings and 46 runs. This is the first time a team has done so in 142 years of Test history. This is Team India's 12th consecutive Test series win over India. In this case too, the Indian team has made a world record. At the moment, the Indian team had set this world record by sweeping the South African team 3–0 in the Test series earlier, but it has strengthened further with the win of this series.

The Indian team holds another record in this test. Team India became the first team to declare their innings in seven consecutive Test matches. Team India declared their innings for the seventh time in 2019. England's team's record of declaring innings in six consecutive Test matches before India was named. England achieved this feat in the year 2009. Now, after ten years, the Indian team has broken this England record and named it.
