New Delhi: Bad news has come out for Bangladesh ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Team India. The team's star fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the first match due to back pain. Taskin was supposed to lead Bangladesh's bowling attack during the ODI series against India. His form has been excellent recently, in such a situation, it is going to be a big setback for Bangladesh.

Shoriful Islam has been called up as a backup in the ODI squad in place of Taskin Ahmed. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin said on Thursday (December 1) that, 'Taskin has been ruled out of the ODI series opener as he is suffering from back pain. A decision regarding his participation in further matches will be taken later. Taskin's injury alone is not a matter of concern for Bangladesh. The team's star opening batsman Tamim Iqbal is also not fully fit. He suffered a groin injury during a warm-up match on November 30.'

Earlier, the BCCI had also announced Jadeja's exclusion from the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh starting on December 4. Shahbaz Ahmed has been included in place of Jadeja in the ODI team. India is scheduled to play three ODIs (December 4, 7, and 10)  and two Tests in Bangladesh and a formidable team led by Rohit Sharma will tour the neighboring country. The two Tests will be played in Chittagong from December 14-18 and in Mirpur from December 22-26.
