Patna: In the aftermath of India's victory over Pakistan in an ICC World Cup match held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, celebrations took an unfortunate turn in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. A group of Indian fans, exuberant over their team's triumph, marked the occasion by bursting fireworks. However, their celebration irked another group, resulting in a violent altercation between the two sides.
Why didn't you arrest those culprits who objected on Bursting Firecrackers on India's win??

सिर्फ महौल शांत करने के लिए पुलिस है? क्या अरोपियों को गिरफ्तार करने के लिए भी? भारत की जीत पर पटाखे नहीं फूटेंगे तो क्या मातम मनाया जाएगा?

The incident unfolded in the old Gudri Road area, where one group's jubilant celebration clashed with another's objections. The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, necessitating the intervention of the police. Officers from four police stations, including Nagar, Mithanpura, Sikandarpur, and local Superintendent of Police (SP) Avadhesh Dikshit, arrived at the scene to restore order. In an effort to prevent further clashes stemming from the defeat of Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup match, the police summoned peace committee members. SP Dikshit appealed to the involved groups to find an amicable resolution. Following the skirmish, the police maintained a presence in the neighborhood as a precaution, although the situation had calmed.
The root cause of the altercation was an objection by one group to the bursting of firecrackers, citing potential disruptions to young children and heart patients. Although the police asserted that the matter was essentially a dispute between two neighbors, some vested interests had painted it as a communal issue. While no serious injuries were reported, minor injuries were sustained by some participants in the scuffle, and one individual had brandished a sword during the confrontation.
