Visakhapatnam: The first match of the three-Test series between India and South Africa is being played in Visakhapatnam. Batting first after India won the toss, the Indian team declared the first innings at 502/7 on the second day of the game. In response, by the end of the second day's play, the South African team has lost three wickets for just 39 runs. Two wickets Ravi Ashwin and one wicket by Ravindra Jadeja. In this way, the visiting team is still behind by 463 runs on the basis of India's first innings.
It would not be wrong to say that after the historic innings of openers Mayank Agarwal (215) and Rohit Sharma (176), the bowling performance of the bowlers has strengthened the hold of Team India in the first Test match. Earlier today, ie, playing on their first day's score 0/202 on Sunday, Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma once again troubled the African bowlers.
The duo held the record for India's largest opening partnership against South Africa. Opening a partnership of 317 runs, broke the 11-year-old big record of Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag. Sehwag-Gambhir set a record of 268 runs in the Chennai Test match played in 2008. Mayank Agarwal hit the first double century of his Test career.
