Right-handed batsman Mayank Agarwal, who landed his first Test match in the country, hit the first century of his Test career. He converted that century into a double century. R Ashwin took 8 wickets in this match to equal the world record of the great Muttiah Muralitharan, who completed 350 Test wickets in 66 matches. R Ashwin has also taken the same number of wickets in many matches.

Ashwin did an amazing job of taking seven wickets in an innings of Test cricket for the seventh time. In this match, Ravindra Jadeja scored a quick 70 runs in both innings. While bowling in both innings, Jadeja took 6 wickets, of which he took 4 wickets in the second innings.
