Pune: India and South Africa will clash for the second Test match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune today. India won the first Test and took a 1–0 lead in the three-Test series. Now everyone's eyes are on how the two teams get the pitch in Pune. India's bowling coach Bharat Arun has already said that on whatever pitch Team India is ready to play, while South African captain Faf du Plessi has also hoped that Pune's pitch will be better than Visakhapatnam.

In such a situation, when everyone is talking about the Pune pitch, we are getting you aware of every aspect of it. Pune's pitch is counted among the flattest pitches in the country in first-class cricket. When the first match was played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, at least 10 first-class matches were held in 36 grounds of the country since the start of the 2011–2012 season. Out of those 36 grounds, only two are such stadiums, whose run per wicket figure is more than Pune. A wicket falls after every 36 runs in Pune.

A total of 26 first class matches have been played here so far. Ten of them have scored 150 or more runs while two triple centuries and three double centuries have been scored. 13 of the 26 matches ended on a draw. Seeing green grass and moisture on the pitch, it seems that this will help the fast bowlers and it happens, but when the test match is held in the stadium, then the mood of the pitch changes completely. The first Test was played in this stadium in Pune in 2017. This match lasted only three days. India scored 105 and 107 runs in this match. It was given a Poor rating after the match. Australia won the match by a big margin of 333 runs.
