New Delhi: The first Test of the two-match series between the Indian team and the West Indies was played at Antinga. India won the match by 318 runs. That is India's biggest victory on foreign soil. With this win, Team India took a 1-0 lead in the series. Ajinkya Rahane was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant innings. Chasing a victory target of 102 runs, the hosts were all out for 102 runs in their first innings. Team India were 343 for 7 in their second innings on the fourth day of the match.

Chasing a victory target of 418 runs set by the West Indies, India were all out for 419 in their first innings. In reply, the Caribbean team were all out for 100 runs in their second innings. In the second innings, the Caribbean batsmen were completely dashed in front of the Indian bowlers. For India, Jaspreet Bumrah took the most five wickets in the second innings.

 Team India had earlier defeated Sri Lanka by 304 runs in 2017 and now set a new history by beating the West Indies by 318 runs. West Indies score their lowest score in Test cricket against India. Chasing a victory target of 217 runs set by the West Indies, the visitors were all out for 100 runs in their second innings. Earlier, the West Indies were all out for 103 in Kingston against India in 2006.
