NEW DELHI: India beat the West Indies by four wickets in the first T20 match played at the Central Broward Regional Stadium on Saturday, with India taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series. Now that the victory has once again shown the strength of Indian bowling, it has exposed the lack of its batsmen. Both the teams looked helpless in front of the bowlers in the match.

West Indies was bundled out for 95 in 20 overs. While playing his first international match for India, fast bowler Navdeep Saini took three wickets and threw the field over the end of the innings. He also got one wicket in the final overs. In this way, Saini played a key role in The Victory of History-making India. He was adjudged man of the match. The second T20 match between the two teams will be played on Sunday (4th August).

The target of just 96 ruck was too difficult for India. India lost six wickets to achieve the 96-run target and scored 17.2 overs. Sub-captain Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 24 runs. Skipper Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey, who were returning to the team, were all out for 19-19 in their first innings. For Windies, Kemo Paul, Sunil Naren and Sheldon Cottrell bagged 2 wickets each. For India, Saini took 3 wickets each, Bhuvneshwar Kumar two, Washington Sundar, Khalil Ahmed, Krunal Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja.
