New Delhi: Addressing the nation on the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that we do not address or avoid problems. It is the responsibility of all of us to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. It is our responsibility to give their dreams new wings.

On 370, PM Modi said that Article 370 and 35A were very important, so why was it not made permanent for 70 years? For the past 70 years, terrorism was born out by these systems. Separatism was emphasized. Familyism is potent. The foundation of corruption and discrimination was strengthened. The dreams of many tribes, including women, Dalits, were crushed there. That's where we've done this to give them freedom.

The PM has said that there is no person in all political parties who have spoken against Article 370 either in a prostituity or in an outspoken manner. However, the country is asking those who are advocating it, so why did you make them temporary in 70 years? You would come forward and make it permanent, though you didn't have the courage to do it.
