NEW DELHI: On India's 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after unfurling the national flag at the historic Red Fort, delivered a nationwide address highlighting the themes of performing, reforming, and transforming the nation. Referring to the formation of the new government in 2019 as a catalyst, he emphasized that the country's trajectory is now characterized by these principles.

"In the wake of the new government's inception in 2019, I found the determination to instigate reforms. Today, our nation resonates with the ideals of performance, reform, and transformation," asserted PM Modi from the Red Fort.

He went on to highlight the international acclaim that India has garnered, with global experts forecasting unceasing progress and various rating agencies extolling the nation's achievements. Drawing parallels to the post-World War emergence of a new global order, he envisioned a comparable shift in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

PM Modi underscored that every action and resource of the government is directed towards the betterment of its citizens. "With a shared commitment to our country's welfare, both the government and its people stand united in prioritizing the nation," he added.

In his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort, PM Modi articulated, "We stand at a juncture of immense possibility; this year marks the advent of the 'Amrit Kaal' - a period of rejuvenation and resurgence. We are either experiencing our youthful phase or being reborn in the embrace of Mother India. The choices we make during this era, the strides we take, will be the architects of our nation's illustrious history."

Extending his Independence Day greetings to India's 1.4 billion families, representing the world's largest democracy, Modi proudly proclaimed, "We are the world's most populous nation, and today we all commemorate our independence."

Commending the youth, he acknowledged that individuals hailing from smaller cities and towns, often referred to as tier 2 and tier 3 cities, are leaving a remarkable imprint across diverse sectors, including the realm of start-ups. "In our present landscape, we possess the trinity of demography, democracy, and diversity - a potent combination capable of realizing our nation's aspirations," he emphasized.

Looking ahead, PM Modi prophesied that the forthcoming years would sculpt the course of development for generations to come. Acknowledging the technology-driven nature of the contemporary world, he envisioned India's burgeoning technological talent assuming a pivotal role in shaping the nation's standing and influence on the global stage.
