India, Mongolia hold talks on trade, terrorism at Joint Committee

Ulaanbaatar [Mongolia], Apr. 25 (NT): Indo-Mongolia 6th Joint Committee for Cooperation on Wednesday concluded in which the two countries pledged to put a stop to those who extend support to the terror outfits.

Broadening and deepening strategic  partnership, EAM Sushma Swaraj had a good exchange of views on expanding cooperation across several sectors in her meeting with the Mongolian Minister and Chief of Cabinet Secretariat Gombojav Zandanshatar in Ulaanbaatar.

In the summit Co-Chaired by EAM Sushama Swaraj and her counterpart Damdin Tsogtbaatar issues including bilateral trade, terrorism and joint refinery projects were discussed.

“Mongolia is not only our strategic partner but also a spiritual neighbour,” said EAM Sushma Swaraj in her Press remarks together with Mongolian Foreign Minister Tsogtbaatar D after the Joint Committee Meeting.

India –Mongolia further talked about the possibility of launching direct air connectivity between India's capital New Delhi and Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar.

While talking about the increasing worldwide terrorism, the two countries agreed to cooperate bilaterally and in the global arena to ward off "this evil and thwart the designs of those who extend support to terrorists outfits."

They also held talks for economic cooperation in areas including infrastructure development, energy, services and Information Technology.The two foreign ministers signed bilateral agreements. (NI)
