New Delhi: According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India had 7,554 new Covid-19 cases and 223 deaths in the last 24 hours. The death toll has risen to 5,14,246 after 223 deaths in a single day.

As per data from the Union Health Ministry, the country's overall number of cases reached 42,938,599, with active cases falling below one thousand after 60 days. The recovery of 14,123 patients in the last 24 hours has brought the total number of patients recovered to 4,23,38,673. The number of active cases in India is currently 85,680.

As of Wednesday morning, India's Covid inoculation coverage has reached 1,77,79,92,977, thanks to the administration of 8,55,862 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours.According to the health ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.96 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 1.06 percent.

On August 7, 2020, India's Covid-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, and on August 23, it surpassed 30 lakh. On December 19, it crossed the one-crore threshold. On May 4, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.
